Match tennis

Hartford enters five mens' and three ladies' teams in the South & Mid Cheshire Leagues as well as a mixed team.

The mens and ladies first teams are both in the first division and a good standard of tennis is played throughout the leagues.
Home matches are played predominantly on Tuesday evenings but some are held on Thursday evenings as well.

Anyone interested in playing in the teams should contact David Glenn on 07703 501188. No one ever thinks there place is safe at Hartford so if you are a new members, don't be afraid to challenge for a place in the team. Competition is good for us all!

Social tennis

Hartford prides itself on being a friendly, family-orientated club with a large social membership. Turn up and play sessions are available on Monday evenings from 6pm until 8pm and Sunday mornings from 10am until lunchtime.

Over the winter, our floodlights permit pre-arranged sessions to run from 8pm to 10pm on several weekday evenings. These sessions have proved extremely popular, with over 90 members taking part throughout the recent winter.

Drill Till You Drop was introduced to add a little fitness training to the tennis programme. Members were heard moaning they hated going to the gym, but wanted to be pushed physically. In response, club coaches John Walsh and David Forrest stretched the players to the limit each week and left them wishing that they had never mentioned the fact that they wanted to be fitter!
