Club House Refurbishment

 The last remaining project for this year is the redecoration of the clubhouse. 

The plasterboard ceiling needs to be renailed then redecorated.

The walls need to be lined then painted. New lighting is to be fitted and heaters are being installed when they arrive later this year.

The carpet is to be cleaned and a new laminate floor is to be laid in the kitchen area. Hopefully when all this has been done the Club House will be something that we can all be proud of.

Hartford Tennis Club goes Electronic

 We are making a big effort this year to improve communication on club information and at the same time reduce our reliance on paper. This is why we have asked you all to let us know if you are willing to receive information by email. We will be making every effort to provide notifications, updates and reminders either via the website or via direct email and we hope you will be seeing HTC emails in your inbox soon! If you have not supplied your email address and you would like to receive email information then please mail us at hartfordtennisclub@googlemail.com.

We also plan to make more use of the website to communicate event reminders and updates. The website will be on display on a large screen in the club house soon showing the Hartford Tennis Club Electronic Bulletin Board.

We are moving court bookings to the website. In time this will be accessible to members but in the short term you will need to call John Walsh 07801822855 to book courts and he will update the timetable on the website as soon as he can. This way you will be able to access the website from home or work to check court availability.

The website will include a members area for items of interest to members only. All members will be provided with logon details. This area of the website is planned to extend over time and any suggestions of information that you would find useful will be gratefully received.

Future plans for the website include on-line membership registration which we are hoping to get in place for the start of next season.

Club Mark 

Clubmark is a National Accreditation to Sporting Excellence. The LTA have created their own version which sets a common crireria to ensure that best practice and minimum operating standards are delivered in accredited clubs.

Hartford Tennis Club is currently in the process of preparing for accreditation.  There are many items required in order to achieve accreditation that will make the club a better and safer place to play, but as it is a lengthy and time consuming process improvements will be noticed over time.

John Walsh (Head Coach) is spear-heading the project, and a large amount of his time has already been put in to getting the administrative wheels in motion. Any help that you can give him will be appreciated.

This project will hopefully ensure that our club maintains the already high standards that we have set over the last seven years. Items such as a business plan, a tennis development programme and club action plans are already set in place and there are plenty of others still to be actioned.

In order to complete everything required for the auditors John will need all members to assist him by quickly completing and returning all paperwork that is sent out to them. Some of this may appear to be wasteful of time and resources but is essential if the club is to complete everything that is required.

The members of the Committee are grateful for your ongoing committment and will aim to keep members informed of progress towards ClubMark over the coming months.
